1 month already

Time sure does fly by. Sweet little Ava Rose has already turned one month old!
At her 2 week checkup she was up to 8lbs 5oz. The Dr said she looks great. We did find out she has a slight case of reflux. Mommy & Daddy have been pretty lucky that she lets them sleep.

Ava Rose got to see her very first snow on 2-12. Almost 6inches! It was the first time in a long time that we have gotten snow here in MS. Daddy made her a snowman!

Prince Charming brought a rose for Ava Rose on Valentines day. Daddy was all grins giving it to her.

She has also gone to see her Papa at his house twice so far! She decided to take a little snooze on his bed-camo pic at top-must have been pretty comfy!

Its so fun watching Ava Rose make her cute faces. She is growing so fast. I think I fall more and more in love with her each day. I'll be going back to work soon and Nana will watch her. Not sure how I'm going to handle not having her with me 24/7. We have let Nana watch her for a couple hours here and there to try and prepare myself. She got several phone calls checking up on our little sweet heart. The phone will probably be ringing like crazy when she has her all day. :)

Now its on to month 2!

The Princess has arrived!

Well, we were going to induce on Feb1, but little miss Ava Rose decided to make other plans for us. I woke up early on Jan 30 with some mild contractions. By 4am I had to wake Brian and call the Dr. We arrived at the hospital at 5:30am, and Dr Etheridge broke my water around 9. Of all times Dr Gebhart was out of town; we joked with him the whole pregnancy about not going anywhere near her due date. Labor and Delivery was not at all what I had expected. Everyone talks about how horrible and painful it is, but for us it was a great fun experience. We were the only ones in delivery so we had the full attention of the staff, who were amazing! Brian picked with them the whole time! I'm not sure who laughed the most, us or the nurses!

At 5:03PM our little princess was born, weighing 8lbs3oz, 19 1/2inches long! Just like we expected she was perfect in everyway!

Ava Rose did have to go straight to the NICU. She has a small respritory problem. Once in NICU, they found a possible infection in her blood(turns out it was a false alarm thank goodness), and then she got joundice. I was released on Monday and she was released on Wed 2-3-10 which was her actual due date. Luckily for us, the NICU has a Rooming in Room so we did get to stay with her until she got out.

Now the new fun begins. Lots of firsts on the way, and many new adventures with our little Princess!

Not much longer

So we had our 38week checkup last Thursday. Dr. Gebhart said we are measuring fine, of course my belly is still measuring a little bigger than the week that we are. Ava Rose had a good heart rate, 145. I have had no changes in dilation still at the 1cm mark. Hopefully that will change by our next visit.

Our 37 week checkup went well also. We did a sonogram and she measured out to 7lbs7oz, which puts her to the average size of a 39week4day preg! Dr says she is going to be a good 8.5lbs!

Her room is ready, and so are mommy and daddy! we tell her every morning and at night that its time to come out. She Has no intentions on listening to us, LOL! Her big cousin Alyssia is even trying to talk her into coming out, "come out pumpkin, Hurry up!" Its so sweet.

Next appt is Thursday.

Waddle Duck

We are officially waddling now! Dandy says we are a waddle duck :)Ava Rose has found her way into my ribs. She really like to kick me hard when Daddy messes with her. She must decide to get him back by getting me, little does she know that I enjoy every little hard kick she makes!

Christmas was great, Ava Rose got lots of presents. Sweet spoiled baby... she isn't even here yet and Santa came to see her! LOL.

Today we are 35w5d. At my appointment, my belly measurement was just over 36w. Ava Rose's heart rate was 149, and I am about 1cm dialated. The Dr said that everything measured out just where she would expect it to be at this time in the pregnancy. I am scheduled for a sonogram on 1-14 to get an estimate on how big she might be! Can't wait to take more pics of her!

Only a few weeks left! YAY!

Down to the final 10

So today we are 29weeks and 5days. Ava Rose has been being real active. At our appointment this morning, she measured out at 3lbs11oz, which is in the 80th percentile. She let us get one good picture of her little foot! and guess what, just like Daddy her bigtoe and the toe next to it are the same size. I sure do love those cute little toes!
We also got to see the hair on her head today. Guess the old wives tale about heartburn is true.

This appointment also started the down hill stretch of appointments. Now we will go in every 2 weeks for routine check ups! This means 5 more appointments and she will be here!

Chubby Cheeks

So we had to wait until we made it to 28 weeks before Aunt Phyllis would do a 4D sonogram. Well time has finally come.
Before starting the 4D we scanned Ava Rose just to check everything out. Her heart rate was 150, right on track with what we have been getting with our doppler. Feet were precious, little hands too! She measured out to be about 2lbs 14oz. just above the average. She was sucking her thumb through the first part of her pictures.
Time for 4D! She has the cutest little nose. And Chubby Cheeks!!!! I wish everyone could have seen Brian's face as he was watching what she looks like. He was beaming!
I'll post pics this weekend, gotta get them scanned to the computer!

13 weeks to GO!

Ok so we are 27weeks now! She should be around 2lbs. and by now she should be opening and closing her eyes. Very exciting!

Monday I took the gestational diabetes test and what happens... I fail by 2 points! Of course I tried to sweet talk Dr. Gebhart into letting me slide and not do the 3 hour next Monday but it didn't work. So Monday I have to be at the dr's office at 7AM--OHMY! I don't get up that early!
Other than failing the GD test, Everything is going smoothly right now. My belly measured out just right, iron level was good, weight was good. Sonogram is scheduled in 3 weeks, Nov 23rd.

Halloween was fun! I painted my belly to look like a pumpkin! Ava Rose wiggled the whole time i was painting, not sure if it was cold or if it tickled!Brian was so worried that the paint was going to hurt Ava Rose. I had to paint take pictures and wash it off. He is so protective and its CUTE!
